Meet the team
At GCP, we know that our amazing team is our greatest asset – that’s why we’re so committed to training and promoting our people internally.
We want to recognise our degree apprentice, Ben Fitzpatrick. He’s currently studying at Manchester Metropolitan University while training with us.
When did you join GCP?
I started at GCP alongside my enrolment at Manchester Met University in October 2023, I’ve been here over a year now and have settled in really well.
What attracted you to GCP?
Definitely, the opportunity to work alongside really experienced individuals within the company. The vision of the company definitely aligned with my goals for my own career, therefore it was a no-brainer.
How have you found the Degree Apprenticeship so far?
A good challenge, it’s sometimes difficult to get the balance between the academic side and the challenges I face at work. Despite this I have really enjoyed it so far, being able to travel to Manchester and learn within the universities facilities is brilliant as well as the people I have met from various different companies.
What’s the best thing about working at GCP?
The people 100%. Everyone is so supportive and it’s always a great atmosphere in the office. The jokes and banter are always brilliant, but our ability to get work done alongside that is what makes it even better.
Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by the career of my line manager, Matthew Clarke, as his knowledge of the industry and experience at a young age is something I am really motivated by. As well as Matt, I would say my dad has always been an inspiration for me from a young age, so I would say those two.
