2022 is a big year for Glossop Cartons.

We’re celebrating the business’s 40^th anniversary and have lots of exciting events and announcements planned throughout the year to honour this great milestone.

As one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of carton board packaging products, Glossop Cartons’ innovation, quality, service and investment in the latest technology have seen it grow from a humble start-up in 1982 to a thriving industry leader holding a strong customer base of leading household names.

We thought it would be nice to take a trip down memory lane and look back on some of the company’s biggest achievements over this time – from new investments, new faces and new partnerships, there has been lots to smile about over the last 40 years…

1982 – Glossop Cartons was established by Raymond Every, and shortly after, expands to include 7 members of staff and moves to a bigger premises in Padfield, Glossop, Derbyshire

1990 – Glossop Cartons becomes one of the first companies to be awarded the BS5750 Part 2 (now recognised as the ISO 9001:2000)

1992 – 2011 – Glossop Cartons invests in a number of hi-tech machinery, including two Iberica Cut & Crease machines, Heidelberg 102 print machine with digital workflow and plate setter, a five-colour Mitsubishi Diamond V3000 and Bobst Expertfold to name just a few

2012 – Glossop Cartons prints its 1 billionth carton

2013 – Winning ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ at this year’s Packaging Innovations Show

2013 – Glossop Cartons becomes the first in the world to commission and install the state-of-the-art Highcon Euclid cut and crease machine

2014 – Being crowned WorldStar Packaging Awards winner in the Best in Food & Drink category

2015 – Installing the Xeikon 3500 to provide a brand new digital carton solution

2015 – Doubling the staff headcount overnight with the acquisition of Contact Print & Packaging and moving to a new site in Stockport

2016 – Becoming BRC Accredited

2016 – Winning Manufacturer of the Year at the Entrepreneur Awards

2018 – Winning the Business of the Year award at the Stockport Business Awards

2021 – Welcoming a new Managing Director, Wayne Fitzpatrick, after a Management Buy Out
